My sister, Whitney, was here in May and we had a fun visit. It was so fun to see my nephew, Tomm, in person. He is sooo cute! One of the days she was here we took the kids to the zoo. This year I need to try to update my blog more often and more than that I need to remember to take more pictures! This is a winter catch up post. We had a really nice first Christmas in this house. Last Christmas we went a little overboard on gifts for the boys so this year we said we were going to keep it more simple. And it was so nice and low stress. And I was so excited for them to see what Santa brought.

I need to post the video of them coming out to see, it is so cute. They were so excited when they saw this train table.

In the middle of January we took a much need vaca down to St. George. It was heaven. Sunny, warm, NO SNOW! The boys had so much fun swimming at the hotel, riding their bikes and playing in the sand. We got to spend some time with our friends Bradi and Bobby and their 3 cute kids. It was sad to come home to COLD. We took more video in George than we did of pics of course! But the first night at the hotel I was reading and saw Logan sit up, look around and crawl over to snuggle with Drakes, it was so sweet!

Fall Time is the BEST Time

It has been a very fun fall! It is my FAVORITE time of year hands down. First Grant and I had our 6th Anniversary on Sept 24. And Logan's birthday was on Sept 25. So we celebrated backwards this year (while we can still get away with it) We had Logan's party on Friday the 24 and celebrated our Anniversary on the 25th. Logan's party was so fun. It was a combo of all his favorite things of the moment. Toy Story, Bug's Life and sports! We made him a baseball pinata and it was SO fun to see the kids hitting it, we will for sure be doing that again!
And the next day we celebrated our anniversary. It was very relaxed and just so fun. The boys slept over at grandma and grandpas house. So I spent the day up until that cleaning and stuff so we could enjoy a clean house for a whole night! Then we went to dinner. It was pretty simple but so fun .
After September we started to get excited for Halloween of course! I asked Drake what he wanted to be and he said Superman. And I just thought Logan could be Buzz from Drake's costume last year. But Logan heard what Drake was being and said "I be Soosooman too!" So we had 2 lil Supermans. Very boy and very fun! I was excited to take the boys out trick-or-treating this year because they are old enough to get into it. And they loved it. Drake kept saying "Next house, next house." And Logan was a bit slow going door-to-door. He had his bucket and this little stuffed puppy. And if I offered to carry anything he would say "NO!" So we didn't make it to many houses. Plus the rain! Bleh! But it was still very fun, I loved it.
Then the last stop before Thanksgiving and Christmas is my bday! It's very nice because it gives me something to look forward to after Halloween. I'm getting older and older but I still get bummed when Halloween is over... My birthday was nice. Grandpa came for the boys and took them for the whole afternoon. So i polished my nails, did a lil cleaning, watched some Grey's with a diet coke! It was awesome! That evening I got to see family and friends and got some great gifts! I loved it. Now let the countdown to Christmas begin!

Drake turned 3 on Monday. I say it every year but I can't believe how much he has grown! He is still all boy... so into cars and trucks and bugs. He is so independent and thoughtful. Such a sweetheart and always saying the funniest things. We LOVE him so much!

Well I'm finding out when you ignore your blog for months and months catching up is so hard! I hope this post isn't picture overload! Drake and Logan have turned into little men, I can't believe how much they have grown. And their personalities are so different. Drake is all about CARS of course. Logan is very interested in SPORTS. It's so fun to watch them grow and find out their likes and dislikes. One of their common interests is BUGS! (yay me, boys bringing me bugs, eek!) But it's fun to watch them. First they find their victim, Logan is the squisher and Drake stands by to watch and cheer him on. Although sometimes Drake tries to spare a potatoe bug or two but Logan shows no mercy! They are both ALL BOY. So here's some catch up with pics and the befores and afters of the boys' rooms:)

Neglect is the only word to describe my blog lately! Everyone has probably abandoned my blog by this point, but for any readers here is an update on our house:) We moved in February sometime and got right down to business cleaning and painting and we've made some good progress but it still seems like there's much to do. But by far the hugest project for us was the kitchen. We changed almost everything about it! But we are so happy with the result. So here are pics of the kitchen and more pics of the rest of the house to come! There really are I promise!

PS: I was hanging the stuff that's on the wall above the fridge and I was STRUGGLING. It took SO much longer than it would've taken Grant. But anyway each time I put up something I would get down and say "ok let's see what it looks like" And then I was getting so frustrated I think I started crying (embarassing I know) And I got down to look and Drakey said "ets see lukes like" I said "Do you think it's cute or ugly?" Drake says" es coot mom, s'okay" and patted my back. Gotta love moral support!

I've been so horrible as far as blogging goes! And I'm sure everyone knows from FB that we FINALLY got a house! This feels like a dream come true for me. I just love the house so much. And we have been spending a lot of time over there working, cleaning and painting and the more time I spend there the more I love it. I'm so excited to move in! I will post some pics of the house soon:)

HUGE DECISION

Ok, we have such a big decision to make and don't know what to do!! After 6 months of house-hunting, we are down to two houses. It sounds like they will both be approved within the next week. We love them both and can't make up our mind. One is in Herriman and is in a great neighborhood. I really do love the house but it needs some work on the inside and out. But the yard is nice and the house has lots of potential. The other house is in West Jordan and is gorgeous. It's only a few years old and is practically move-in ready. But the yard is small and we aren't sure about the schools in that area... Oy, this is so hard and so stressful. We need to make a pro/con sheet for each house I guess... I wish the answer were more obvious!!

Oh my gosh I've been a little ball of stress lately. I need to find a way to relax! I'm not sure what's going on with me but lately I can't stop worrying about things. Mostly Drake and Logan. Sometimes I just worry that I'm not giving them all the things they need... I worry every single day that they aren't getting enough to eat and when they do eat that it's not the right kinds of food. I hate mealtime! First I have to try and think of something to cook that I think they will like. Then I make it and most of the time it seems like they won't touch it. I feel like I'm constantly in the kitchen trying to give them bites of this and that, ugh! It exhausting! Then I've also been worried that I'm not teaching them enough. Am I reading to them enough? Playing enough? Talking to them enough?? Sometimes I just can't stop thinking about how it's my responsibility to raise them and try and help them to be good people.

And I'm having some 2nd-child guilt. How there's half the pics and videos of Logan as there are of Drakey. I remember with Drake it was like the world revolved around him and every minute was spent playing with him and showing him new things. And when Logan came along, his needs were eating/sleeping/changing... and still a lot of my time was spent with Drake. Helping him with things and teaching him. I would make Logan happy and content but a lot of my attention went to Drake. But now suddenly Logan seems so grown up and his personality is totally developing right in front of me. And he loves to learn new things, and he needs more attention and stimulation now. But I feel guilty for not giving him more attention all this time... I'm showing Logan toys now that I showed Drake when he was 10 months and teaching Logan songs that I taught Drake when he was just little. It just feels like I've wasted a lot of time. Anyway! That was a lot of rambling! I just needed to vent I guess and I hope I'm not the only one who ever feels this way!

Busy Fall

I am always having to play catch-up with my blog nowadays. I LOVE the FALL and it's been such a fun month. I have to go back to Logan's 1st Birthday with was on Sept 25. We had a superhero party for him and he was so cute. At 12 months he was walking, had 8 teeth and could say dog, cat and good. Since his bday he has added mom, dad and of course NO to his vocab. He is very, very stubborn and gives me major attitude but I love him so much!

This Halloween was so fun. The boys were Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Drake had fun trick-or-treating but it was a little too cold for him. But he ROBBED my mom and dad of TONS of candy. And we went to a trunk-or-treat at Grant's work and they both made out like little bandits. Next year will be way fun when Logan can get in on all the action.

I wanted to get some family photos and it was a little disasterous... Logan kept trying to escape, then Drake would. There was NO cooperation so most of the pics are more candid. And I don't think we got one good shot of all four of us. But we will just have to try again!

Today is our 5th Anniversary. I'm so happy to be married to my best friend. I'm still crazy about Grant and love spending time together. We are going to wait and celebrate on Saturday since tomorrow is Logan's first birthday and I'm really excited! Here's to many more anniversaries!

A long overdue update

Grant said to me yesterday "After a month of no blogging and you blog about Patrick Swayze??" Haha I thought it was funny. I really can't believe I haven't posted anything since Drake's bday though... So here is an update!

This is all of our things stored away in the garage. Sometimes it doesn't seem ideal, but we really are lucky to have a place to keep everything.

This night was funny because the boys had been playing all day long and they could hardly stay
awake for baths and I took this pic of them trying to finish their bottles... but I think they both crashed instantly.

Mkay and then this is Grant's latest ambition. He is building a shed in his parents backyard. He thought we could store some of our stuff in it until we find a house and then his parents will have it after we move. When he first told me that he was going to build a shed I didn't know what to say. He has never built anything like a shed before. And I was thinking how do you even know how to? But once again Grant has suprised me. When he wants to do something he studies it and reads up on it and before I knew it, the walls were up... I really admire that quality in Grant, he is ambitious and willing to try anything.

These are a few shots of Logan's hair that I'll be trimming up soon. I needed a good "before" pic for his baby book. I think it's kinds cute long, but if I don't trim it soon Grant will take matters into his own hands. . .

Drake had a bad day yesterday. He was running while pushing this truck all around the driveway and the truck hit a lip in the cement and Drake flew over the truck and landed on his head and got this huge egg on his forehead! Once he recovered he wanted to go back outside only to get scratched by the cat ( I think Drake was trying to lay on top of the cat) But I think he was partly so upset because he loves that cat and didn't see it coming...

I was so sad when I heard that Patrick Swayze died. I've seen Dirty Dancing and Ghost hundreds of times. I think he was such a good dancer and sooo HANDSOME!! I'm way bummed! :(

Drake turned two last weekend... everyone says it, but I really can't believe he is two already. And it's so funny because the day after his bday I swear he seemed older. He is trying to talk more and more and we are loving it. His little voice is so cute and sweet. His most used words right now are "pass" for his paci, "go", "pees" for please, and "maa-ee" for cousin Madison (I think he says Madi for both Madi and Ella though...) Despite some terrible two moments, Drake really is such a sweet little boy, and we are so proud of him!!!

Some Stuff We've Been Up To...

I haven't blogged for a while so I need to play catch up now. I've been putting it off because I hate getting pictures/videos off my camera/recorder, it's such a CHORE... We haven't done much yet for the summer but we've still been having fun. Here's what's up with us

Granty G- Our biggest news is that we sold our house and we are getting ready to move. We are scheduled to close on July 15th. The bad news is that we will be homeless for a while. Most of the houses we have looked at won't accept any offers that are contingent on us selling our house, so we have to wait until our house is officially sold before we can offer on any houses. SO we will be moving in with Grant's parents until we find a place. Grant also sold his bullet bike to get some extra cash for a down payment. I was so emotional that day. I get really sentimental about stuff. I think it's mostly because he has wanted a bike ever since I met him in high school and he finally got one and I hate to see him give up something he loves. Especially since he was so careful and never worried me on it.

Me- I was very busy cleaning my house spotless almost everyday up until our house sold. I had to keep it clean for showings, and it was a challenge with the babies. And even after we got the offer I had to clean big a couple of days because the buyers wanted to come back through and then again with their family. It was my life... cleaning. And it was exhausting. Now I get to look forward to packing, UGH. My really good news is that I'm officially done nursing. Logan is taking the bottle sooo good now and it is awesome!! The trick for him was sweetening the formula with apple juice and giving it to him with a straw at first. Weird but it totally worked!

Drakey- He is almost two and definitely going through some terrible twoage... He is starting to say more words now. No sentences yet but he will soon enough, I'm sure. He is starting to realize that Logan can be his playmate. Logan was reaching for a toy at the same time as Drake and when they grabbed it at the same time they started laughing, it's so fun to see them together. Drake is a really good big brother. If Logan's crying he is a good problem solver, he will bring him a paci, a blanket, then toys

Logan- He is crawling!! He has been for a week or so. It is good because he can entertain himself for longer but bad because he is a tornado now like Drake. But he and Drake are definitely playing together more now that he is mobile. He is getting tooth after tooth and has been fussy. But I love his little grin! I'm starting to feel that having kids so close in age will pay off soon. I think they will be pretty good friends.

Mkay it feels like I just wrote a Christmas card recap or something! Hopefully I won't get so behind again :) I will post a video of Logan crawling around soon ;)

Now that Logan's getting around they like to do trouble together...

Happy Birthday to Grant! Finally we are the same age. I hate that I have to be older than you for 6 months each year. Now we are both oldies! haha

Help! Advice Needed!

My little Logan is 8 months next week. I'm still exclusively nursing him and I'm SO ready to start the weening process. For the last few months he has been waking up in the night (sometimes every 2-3 hours) and there was a time he was sleeping through the night so it feels like we are taking a huge step back. And in the day he nurses every 3 to 4 hours so I feel like his appetite is growing and I can't keep up. Here's what I've tried so far.... I've been trying to give him more solids, but he is still only eating 1 and 1/2 to 2 a day. I offer him bottles w/ formula and he REFUSES to drink any. He cries and screams and then I usually give in. He sometimes pulls at my shirt and I feel if I don't ween him now, it will be so much harder later on. He will drink an oz or so of apple juice from a bottle so it seems he doesn't like the taste of the formula. I called his Dr and they suggested going cold turkey but warned me that there will be a few really hard days ahead but if he is hungry enough he will take the bottle. I'm not sure what to do?!? I guess since I'm already up so much in the night I should just do it and not give in. And if it were just Logan I think I would be trying harder but I have Drake too. And I am not sure I can handle TWO fussy boys at the same time. If anyone has any advice I will take it!!

Beach Time

When we visit Florida, I think my favorite thing to do is go to the beach. I love the sand and the water and the warm sun. It is so relaxing and I wish I could go everyday! The only bad part was the nasty sunburns me, Whit and Grant got on our backs. We were so busy reapplying sunscreen on the babies, we totally forgot about our backs! Sick! Anyway here are some of our beach pics :)

Grant kept saying it was fine and asking what was wrong with it. But I couldn't let it go. It was one of my favorite pics of Drake and I didn't want it on an ugly page! Sick Boys = Miserable EVERYONE

Well on Sunday night Drake got a runny nose and I didn't think much of it, but that runny nose turned into a bad cold and fast. And of course Logan is sick also. Both boys were crying and miserable all day yesterday and even worse today. Drake is so stuffed up he can hardly breath and hardly slept last night. I was up on and off with him until 4 am and that's when he woke up for good! Luckily Grant is awesome and stayed up with him until 7 when he went back to sleep. And then who decides to wake up soon after that?? Logan of course! Then Logan falls asleep again around 9 and I'm thinking I'm good to go back to bed. So I get all tucked in and warm in bed and I hear Drake crying AGAIN, and he woke Logan up... UGH! This pattern has continued most of the day. And I cannot wait for their Dr appointment tonight. I cannot think of anything worse than sick babies. Me and Grant have been drinking Air Bornes like there's no tomorrow but we are both feeling yucky anyway. I hope this doesn't last long and we can't wait for warmer weather.

The only good thing about being stuck in-doors is the time to catch up on some scrapping:) I hope everyone else is doing good and that no one catches this yuckiness that's going around!!

This last weekend we went to the children's museum at the gateway. I've never been before and thought it was so much fun! Drake loved it and could've played all night. Anyone who knows Drake, knows how much he loves being outside and running... so this was a great place to be since it's so cold outside!
The other really fun part of the night was after the museum we had lunch with Grant since his office is at the gateway. And by lunch I really mean dinner because his lunch is at 9:00 pm. It was a really fun night. And by-the-way... this post is pretty sad to write because my sister Whitney was in town and she went back to Florida last night :( waaa! Miss you already !

Well it seems like the blogging world has died a little and everyone is facebooking for the moment. I am still figuring out facebook but everytime I login, it seems like I am on there forever and then I completely neglect my blog! But it doesn't help that there hasn't been much to post about with us. Grant posted that we put our house up for sale and I don't think I've mentioned it. But that has been keeping us busy because we are constantly cleaning in case anyone comes by to look at the house. And it's even harder with Drake on the loose because he's a little mess-maker. And my sister Whitney is in town and we have been having so much fun together. But we've been pretty low-key. Just hanging out, watchin' movies and talking and the babies keep us busy. I'm going to be so sad when she goes home next week :( Hopefully I will stop being lame and post some pics soon!

An Update on Us

Everyone has been so concerned for Drakey so I just wanted to say that he is great. He hasn't let his first major injury slow him down at all. After the first few days the swelling went down a lot and then the actual bruising got darker. He is still busy and always on the move. And as my mom says, this is probably the first of many toddler-age battle wounds.

These are the markers that Drake got for Christmas. It was so funny because Grant just kept saying over and over, "He is too young for markers" And I kept telling Grant "He needs to express his creativity" (as Drake keeps putting the markers in his mouth and sucking on them) As you can see it is much much more fun to color on skin than on paper... I feel like the last few weeks have been a total blur! We have been having so much fun and I haven't had a chance to post any of it. So it's time to catch up :)

Then Grant has had to work every holiday... Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and Day. So I spent a lot of time with my family at my mom's house. On Christmas Eve we had a party and dinner. And we were having a contest who could make the ugliest holiday sweater and we all wore them to the party. We ate and played games, it was really fun.

Yesterday was Logan's blessing. Logan's Uncle Jarell gave him his blessing and it was beautiful and meant so much to us. Then everyone came to our house for some lunch. We ate "garbage", an awesome idea given to me by my sister, Shelby. You put some Fritos or Doritos in a ziploc along with taco meat, chili, cheese, sour cream, lettuce and anything else you like then you crunch it all up and eat it out of the bag! It was a good time when the house started clearing out and I looked in to find NO DISHES.

Okay I HAVE to make a post for Grant real quick. He is an amazing man. I feel like I never say enough how much I appreciate him. He works so hard for our family and he is such a provider. And he is such a fun dad to Drake and Logan. On top of everything he is really sweet. Sometimes I complain that he isn't romantic and doesn't say sweet, mushy things. Then I remember that's not at all how he shows he loves me or anyone. He shows it by DOING. He fixes things, hangs stuff, works hard at his job, does overtime, etc. And I have been feeling so spoiled lately. For my birthday last month Grant got me a Canon Rebel, I've been wanting that camera for a long time. It was so much more than I expected. So I was so SHOCKED when he told me he went shopping on Black Friday and bought me a Cricut machine. I can see him fighting off all the women to get his hands on one! I'm so excited about it!! Thanksgiving Weekend

This has been the busiest weekend ever! I'm completely exhausted but had soo much fun. Grant had to work on Thanksgiving so I decided to go to Idaho and have Thanksgiving at my Grandma's with my family. My grandma was so thrilled to see the boys. We had an amazing dinner and it was so fun to spend time together. My only complaint was that my grandma's house has lots of little knick knacks and keepsakes... all within Drake's reach! So it was so tiring following him around and making sure he didn't break anything.

Then on Friday we hung around the house until my dad got off work and then he had us all come down for a train ride and he taught me and Shel to work the controls and we actually got to drive the train, it was really exciting. I was so nervous I would crash into another train that was parked on the track. And then my dad let Drake push the horn and he went crazy pushing that button, it was so funny. After the train ride we went to the Thanksgiving Parade. We were all freezing and wouldn't have watched as much as we did but Drake LOVED it so we stayed almost until the end. After the parade we went to dinner and got warmed up. After all of that it would have been fun to go right to bed but we hit the road and drove back home. We had to be home by Saturday because all of the kids were getting together to do some painting at my mom's house. We wanted to suprise her for a Christmas present and my dad was in on it and keeping her up in Idaho so that we could work. So Saturday we painted into the night. I left at 1am but everyone else stayed up until 4. I would have pulled an all-nighter if not for the babies! It was lots of work but honestly we haven't hung out all together for such a long time and it was so fun. We were all teasing eachother and kept getting hyper from cokes and dr pepper then we would have a crash, then more hyperness. It was so fun to see her face when she got home on Sunday night. We love her so much and she deserved it! I hope everyone had a fun Thanksgiving! (sorry for the looon post)

Okay, this is the 2nd time I've gotten this tag and I've been putting it off because I have a power bun and look gross... but here it is. This is from when Drake was just starting to eat more and more solid foods and he loved to eat! If he saw someone eating he would want a bite. So on this day I gave him a ginger snap. I had no idea he could make that big of a mess from a little bity cookie! We were also playin' a little bit of dress up with his hat from his pirate costume. And we went over to show Grant how much Drake liked that cookie. I remember Grant was like "What the? What is he eating??" And we told him pirates don't have manners! And he took a pic ;)

So this week has been a tough one. Drake had a checkup this week and had to get shots and he's always more fussy for a few days after that. And he's getting so many teeth at the same time. And Logan was crying for a half hour straight. That may not seem like too long but he is usually such a quiet little guy. So it got me a little frazzled. And I've been trying to do a lot of organizing around the house. And I feel like I've gotten so much done but it's a little frustrating because it's stuff you might not notice. So I feel like my house still looks so messy and cluttered. I'm just really excited for the weekend and to spend some time with Grant. And tonight I was also thinking how much I would love to take a long bath, wash my hair, put a mask on my face and paint my nails. But when the boys finally go to sleep I just want to crawl into bed. Sometimes I feel so frumpy during the week. I have a ponytail usually and no makeup. And I was looking at old pictures the other night and totally felt like I've let myself go. And I thought of a poem that my sister Whitney found a long time ago and it fit my mood. It also reminded me that sometimes I need to just stop what I'm doing and get down on the floor and play with the boys while they are little. It's okay if the house is cluttered sometimes. Not to mention that Drake usually follows me around while I'm cleaning and likes to take out what I just put away. Anyway, motherhood isn't always the most glamorous thing but I have no regrets. I know these years are going to go by so fast and I know I'm going to miss it. And I also feel very lucky to be able to stay home with the boys. Although sometimes I get so tired and frustrated that going back to work sounds kinda nice. I hope I'm not the only one who ever feels this way. If you've had a week like mine I hope you enjoy this poem as much as I do.

So anyone who has been to my house knows that in our front room Grant hung surround sound speakers up on every wall. It was a battle I lost when we first moved in. And I will admit that it is fun to have surround sound for movies but they are big and black and are a total eyesore. Well this year I got out all of my Halloween decorations and put them out. And then Grant had a fun idea that we should turn the speakers into ghosts! And he picked out all the fabric and everything. So here are our spooky ghosts :) I might have to do something like this every holiday to hide the speakers, maybe christmas trees or something....

Papaya Pumpkin Masque

I found a fun recipe for a homemade pumpkin facial mask (and it was easy to make because it only has 3 ingredients) Pumpkin is really good for the skin. It has enzymes that will eat away dead skin cells. It works like a facial scrub without any abrasion or scrubbing. It also has lots of Vitamin A and C, and it will give your skin a healthy glow :) Click HERE for the recipe. The website recommends you test some of the mask on your hand if you have sensitive skin and I think it's a good idea. I don't have sensitive skin and I thought the mask felt really good, a little tingly. But it might feel more intense if you have sensitive skin :) And this recipe made plenty of mask for more than one person so it would be a fun thing to do for a girl's night (or go ahead and slap some on your hubby or boyfriend!) It should stay good in the fridge for about a week, too.

Yay!! Our computer is fixed! That was such a long time to be without computer and internet. And a lot has changed for us! We are now a family of four. Logan Grant was born on September 25 at 3:45 pm. He was 8 lb 1 ou and 20.5 inches. You can decide for yourself but most people are saying he is a Giron for sure, more Giron than Grant, haha! He is a sweetheart and I feel blessed to have him in my life. Drake has been a really good big brother. He is so curious about Logan and always looks at me when he hears the baby cry. And I'll say "Let's go check on the baby" and he will run to the bassinet. He is a sweetheart. I never pictured myself as a mother of two boys but I adore them and can't imagine it any other way.

Poor bruised baby! Being born is hard work!!

So our computer has been down and I haven't been able to blog at all or look at any blogs!! Luckily the part that is broken should be here this week! But here is a little update on us.... Drake had his first haircut. He actually held really still. He was watching Monsters Inc. and Grant kept feeding him fish crackers and we managed to get through it pretty quick. Can't wait until I can post some pics. And the biggest news in our lives right now is that my due date is this coming
Saturday the 27th. And the good news is that I'm going to get induced on the 25th if I don't have him before. I am sooo excited! In just 4 days there's going to be a new baby in our lives. Can't wait for the computer to be back so I can look at everyone's blogs that I've been missing!

Who said I love you first? I did. And I remember there was silence on the other end of that I love you. I felt so stupid! I think I told him pretty soon after we started dating and I'm sure I freaked him out. But I really did love him and couldn't keep it to myself!

Who is smarter? Grant is for sure more logical than I am and more curious than I am. If he doesn't understand how something works he will find out. And he can fix practically anything. I'm a better speller though, and I used to be really good at math.

Who does the laundry? We both do. I hate doing laundry! And Grant has been doing more laundry than me lately cuz it's hard to pack the baskets up and down the stairs with my big belly.

We got the door and garage painted yesterday. We thought we were done painting but Grant and I both think the soffits should be painted the same color as the door and garage. What a pain... for Grant! ha ha! Now it's time to accessorize! I'm going to get a new porch light and a new welcome mat. Anybody have any other good ideas? Then next year hopefully we will be able to

do the front and back yard :)

A Work in Progress

So one thing I really wanted done before the baby comes was to have the front door painted. As you can see in the before pic it was half green/half primed for a couple months. But when I asked Grant to fix it he said as long as he was painting he wanted to paint the whole house cuz he hates this brown color. And I have never loved the brown color but painting the whole house seemed a bit too ambitious. But anyone who knows Grant knows that once he gets an idea there is no turning back! So we are in the middle of it all and here is a pic of the house so far. I'm going to paint the garage and door a charcoaly-brown color (hard to explain but I'll post a pic when it's done) And we need to shop for a new porch light, too. I want to get a black lantern type light or something. Anyway, more pics to come!

I can't believe we just barely got Drake a high chair and he is one! It just seems like there is always SOMETHING to have to buy! I would usually just hold him on my lap to feed him, but it was becoming a struggle... But my life just got a ton easier. He can feed himself a lot more and plus he can't escape and drag his food all around.

This was a day of desperation... I am basically out of room on my lap and he wants to be so independent, so we belted him to the chair! Ghetto Fab

I meant to do this yesterday... seems I'm atleast one day late with everything lately! But I just wanted to wish my older sister a Happy Bday.

I love you so much and miss you tons. I wouldn't change anything about our lives right now except I would have us living right by eachother! Remember when our lives seemed more simple? I remember we did everything together and talked about every little detail of every day. I remember going through breakups and other hard times and just laying on your lap crying. And I remember how much I would (and still do) stress myself out with details and worrying, and you always know the right thing to say to help me calm down. I miss you :(

Favorite Things of the Moment

I thought I would post a few things that I am in love with at the moment... but first I just need to vent... The doorbell rang and it is this lady trying to sell childrens books for 400 bucks. Grant answered the door but he was trying to leave for work, so he had to feed me to the wolf. And first thing she says is "Wow, you are so big! How much longer do you have?" And then she followed that up with a "Is there more than one baby in there?" Just a note to all door-to-door salespeople... don't make the potential buyer angry before you even start your shpeel! She was getting on my nerves quick! Laughing at her own jokes and blah blah blah. And then I completely lost interest when she said "I personally deliver the books and I send a card letting you know what day I will be coming over so you can make me cookies. What kind of cookies will you be making for me?" Ya... NO! Anyway, beware of a lady with a European accent and a big tote of books, she is on the move.

Back to my fave things

First is this maternity belt that I am modeling in the picture. It can be worn under clothes but when it is super hot out it just feels like another hot layer on my skin. But this baby has been sitting so low and my dr says he is head down. So I always feel so much pressure and I have to pee every second. But the belt takes so much pressure off of my pubic bone and my bladder, it has been so nice. I always need it when I'll be standing lots like shopping or on a walk.

And I LOVE Almay's Intense i-Color Collection. They have eye shadows specifically for your eye color. I always like trying new colors but sometimes it is hard to get my hazel color to pop. Almay has had there "Bring Out" collections out for a long time but the "Play Up" collections are new and I am in love. There are 3 shadows, liquid liner and mascara.

I just wanted to thank everyone that's been helping me this last week. I've been struggling! About two weeks ago I felt a bump by my tailbone and it was so tender and sore all the time. And everyday it got harder to get around. It got to the point where I couldn't sit so I went to the Dr. and they told me it was a cyst. He thought it might go away w/ some medicene but it kept getting bigger! UGH! So I finally went in to get it drained (which was a horrible experience!) After that it was so sore and it still took a few days before I could sit. I'm finally starting to get back to normal (pregnant normal anyway...) But I had so much help from friends and fam. Thank you so much for babysitting Drake and bringing dinner over, it saved my life!

Drake has grown so much and he is such a precious part of our family. He is always smiling and laughing and he is becoming a bit mischievous. Grant played! He will deny that he is obsessed with his new motorcycle, but he is. It is pretty much all he has talked about, or done since he got it. And I have such mixed feelings about it. It is so fun to see him so excited about something. And he has wanted a bike since I met him. And when it is parked in the garage I love it and think it is so cool... it's just the whole riding it thing that sucks. Everytime he leaves on it I worry. Maybe I'm just being paranoid? But anyway here it is, the "other woman" in my life...

Weekend Away

I spent the 24th weekend in Idaho with Drake. We stayed at my grandma's house with my parents, Whitney and Stephanie. It was so fun to spend time with everybody and it is always so good to see my grandma. The first two days we just hung around, and went shopping. And one of the funnest parts of the trip was letting Drake play in the backyard. He LOVES being outside. It was so fun to watch him. We barely turned the sprinkler on and he thought it was so fun.

Then on Saturday my dad took us to see the Blue Angels in Twin Falls, ID at the air show. It was hot, but so much fun. Drake loved seeing the planes and jets. Sometimes the jets would startle Drake and he would hold on to you so tight, then he would just go on like nothing happened. After the show we went to Shoshone Falls to eat a late lunch before we hit the road to come home. It was such a fun weekend, I'm sad it's over.

Yesterday we went up to Grant's parent's house in Herriman to hang out. I'm starting to figure out that Drake loves being outside. If he sees anyone go outside without him he just starts crying. And it is so sad cuz we don't really have a yard for him to play in yet (hopefully next summer we will) Until then grandma and grandpa have lots of fun stuff for the grandbabies to do

4th of July!

I know it's the 9th, but oh well. I LOVE the 4th of July, it's one of my very favorite holidays. I got a little bummed this year though because it was so hot I felt like I couldn't do anything! Me and my sister took Drake to the parade on the 3rd. I was so excited to see what he would think of the motorcycles and horses and floats. But we were waiting for about 45 minutes and not one float had come yet. I was dying of heat!! And Drake's little face was bright red so we left before it even started. I was so bummed:( But later that night we went to the Riverton carnival and it was really fun. Me and Drake went on the Merry-Go-Round and he seemed to like the ride.

One the actual 4th I learned my lesson and stayed inside during the day. We went to Grant's parents' for pizza and then Grant took me on a scooter ride. And after that we went to watch the fireworks. And the fireworks show made up for everything else I didn't get to do... it was so fun. And I thought Drake might cry or something but he was just chillin' eating teddy grahams. Hopefully next year I WON'T be pregnant in the summer and I'll be able to do more with the boys. Hope everyone had a fun holiday!

My First Ever Scrapbook Page

I have been wanting to begin scrapbooking for such a long time! But I always felt so overwhelmed with all the different kinds of supplies there are. I never knew where to start... A friend of mine was showing me the scrapbooks she made digitally and I knew I wanted to learn asap! I am a total beginner and feel very uncreative, but really had fun making this first page. I want to get better and better. My favorite part was no mess, no cutting, no papers everywhere. And now I can just print this out on a 12X12 paper and put it in a book. I think I found a new obsession :) ( I know it is 2 am, but I was determined to make atleast one page!! I will be paying for it tomorrow)

Grant is such a sweet dad. When I had complications after Drake was born, Grant was amazing. He took such good care of Drake. I swear I didn't change one diaper until Drake was a week old or something, Grant did it all. And Drake loves his dad. He gets so excited when he hears Grant get home and he goes over to the stairs to look for him. And he loves playing chase with Grant, he gets so excited and silly whenever Grant starts chasing him. I can't wait until Drake is old enough to tell Grant how much he loves him, but it's pretty obvious that he does!!

Both Grant and Drake have gotten some new toys... (actually they've had them for a few months but I haven't taken any pics) Grant got a scooter along with some of his friends and brothers. They go riding around together on the weekends. It's pretty easy to control so I ride it around our neighborhood, but haven't been brave enough to take it on busy roads. And it's been great at 80 miles per gallon!

And then Drakey got a Lightening McQueen push toy. It plays music and talks and he loves walkin it around the house. But sometimes he scares me cuz he will push it from the side instead of the back and fall over with it... I love watching him with it though!

Florida Trip

We just got back in town last night. We were planning that trip for so long I can't believe it is over... I hope we can go back again soon! I can't believe how much fun I had. The plane ride was so fun, I can finally say that I've been on an airplane now. Drake was pretty well-behaved. He would fall asleep every time we would take off, and that was awesome. But because of my growing belly I'm running out of lap space so when we would try to move him or if I tried to pass him to Grant he would wake up... But all together it wasn't a bad experience at all.
I thought I would be dying from the Florida heat, but I actually loved it. It felt so good to be in the hot sun after a looong winter. We spent a lot of our time at the beach. We were tempted to go to Universal Studios or SeaWorld or something...but decided Drake isn't old enough to enjoy theme parks yet. We also went shopping. The mall we went to puts Fashion Place to shame. There were so many stores! Drake got his face painted at the mall, too. Cute little kitty! And we went out to dinner a couple times. And Whit took us to a place called Five Guys for lunch, it was sooo good. I had a pretty awesome cheeseburger. It was an amazing vacation. I wish it could have been a little longer. But I know it would always be hard to say goodbye to Whitney, no matter how long we stayed. I never thought we would live so far away from eachother!

Sunny Florida

Ok, I'm in complete heaven! I'm not sure if I want to come home... We are in West Palm Beach visiting my sister and her hubby. It feels so good to get away from home for a while. The flight out here was my very first time on an airplane and it was sooo fun. I love take off! I was so stressed about Drake flying, I thought he would try and get down the whole time and cry but he slept for most the trip...soo lucky!
So far we have gone to the beach. Drake didn't like the water but he loved the sand and the seashells. He kept biting them. And today Whitney suprised Grant and I with massages and facials at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach. It was amazing! I had a maternity massage and I highly recommend it to every expecting mama. Whitney, you are an amazing sister, I am so happy to be here with you!

Eyebrows I am totally obsessed w/ eyebrows. It is one of the first things I notice on people. And I am either appreciating great shapes and arches or dying to get my hands on untamed ones.

I usually sleep in the fetal position and rock myself to sleep Sounds weird... but I do, I rock myself back and forth like a crazy person... but it calms me down. I always wonder if I bother Grant when I do it, but he's never said anything

I love Disney stuff I've been better lately at not buying stuff, but there was a time when I would buy so much Disney stuff and people would buy it for me. Clothes, clocks, snow globes, stuffed animals. Then I felt like I needed to start growing up. But I love Disney movies and books and still buy those :)

It's a BOY

Yesterday I had my 20 week ultra sound. And we found out that we are having another little guy. I'm really excited. I think Drake will love having a little friend to play with. And I don't need to buy anything... that is a plus. I think it will be fun to have a little girl one day, but for now I can't keep the boys away!

The other fun thing is that I finally have a due date... When I found out I was expecting again I was still nursing, so my Dr. was just guessing the first week of October. But my due date is September 27th

Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday was my first official Mother's Day. It was a really fun and busy day. First we had my family over for a lunch-time bbq. I was so caught up in everything that I didn't take any pictures with my camera. But my mom took a bunch so I will have to get them from her and post them later... Then we went up to Grant's parent's house for dinner. It was really fun. Drake took his first ride on the zip line that Grandpa G made. He LOVED it! And again we took pics with not our camera so I will have to get the pics and post them later... darn it!

But I hope everyone I know had a Happy Mother's Day. I love Grant's mom and she definitely deserved a good day, puttin' up with all the guys in her life! I love my mom so much and am so grateful for her. Especially now with Drake...I'm always calling with questions. And it feels so good to be understood by her. Her first two babies were close together also and so she has been so supportive and concerned for me with this pregnancy.

Rookie Mistake... I Should Have Known

So this morning Drake was taking a nap and I get amitious and started cleaning. I put Drake's jumper in the basement cuz he is over it. Then I had room to put our book shelf back in the living room. I dusted it and organized all my books and movies. THEN I even went on to alphabetize my movies (sometimes I have a little OCD... I get it from my dad for sure) I cleaned the whole upstairs and I was so proud. Then Drake wakes up and what's the first thing he does?

He pulled every single book down and tore all the movies onto the floor. I can't believe I didn't think it through before I spent all that time!!

Oh and yesterday I felt the first kicks from the baby. It was pretty exciting. I can't wait to feel more. It was so sweet!

Growing Up

I swear Drake is getting bigger by the minute. In just the last month or so he has learned so many new things. He is mobile and more independent...but also gets into EVERYTHING. I'm constantly chasing him around. He can pull himself up to stand and his new favorite spot is at the front room window looking at everything. Sometimes I cannot believe that he was once in my tummy and so little. We love him so much! Here are some pics of my big boy!

A friend of mine sent this link to me in an email. And it touched me so much. It is about Matt and Ginny Mooney. There son was born with a disease and he lived for 99 days. I know it sounds crazy to be so emotional about a family I don't even know but I found their blog (mattandginny.blogspot.com) and was looking at it from before their son, Eliot, was even born. And I cried and cried. Especially reading the posts from October of 2006, the month that Eliot passed away. I can't imagine how it would be to lose a child. I am so grateful and happy that I have a healthy little guy that I can see everyday. And I pray that the baby on the way will also be healthy. I hope their story touches you like it did me!

I have a crying baby at my feet and Grant keeps tellin' me to get ready so we can go do something and get out of the house... So I don't have time to make a whole post w/ pics and everything. But I feel so lazy for not posting in about 3 weeks. So I just thought I would say that all is well with us. Drake is "crawling" in his own way. He has this little army crawl going on. He is all about trying new foods and he is a little chubster. He is in the funnest stage right now though. He has been a bit of a mama's boy lately. He follows me around and tugs on my pant legs. It's really sweet. My belly is getting bigger every minute, I swear. The second time around I'm showing so quick! (If I get brave maybe I will post a pic of the bump) Oh and another reason that I haven't made a post is because I'm reading the Twilight books and I'm completely addicted. I just finished New Moon and can't wait to read the third book!! Edward is so dreamy!! And I swear I will do a better post soon!

Fun at Grandma's House

My sister, Whitney, was in town the last few weeks and we had so much fun together. She hasn't seen Drake since he was born, so it was so fun for her to see him. While she was here we went up to my grandma's house in Idaho and spent a few days with her. Our grandma is such an important person in our lives and it was so good to see her.

My dad works up in Idaho and is living with my grandma right now and Drake loved to see him too! He loves his grandpas!

Madeleine and Drake
My big brother, Kasey, visited us from Missouri a few weeks ago with his wife Molly and their baby Madeleine. Madeleine is one month older than Drake (and he is a little thicker than her!). And he just loved her! I think he loved having someone around that was his size. But it was so fun to watch them playing together. They were so precious together and would hold hands sometimes. I'm so glad they could spend some time together. CUTE LITTLE BUMS :)

Drake's Gonna Be a Big Brother!!

The Secret is out! We are expecting our second child and I'm due in October. This is such an exciting time in our lives. I admit I was in a bit of shock when I found out I was expecting again so soon. But now we are gettting used to the idea and getting excited all over again. The babies will be about 14 months apart so we will be keeping really busy! I'll definitely keep everyone posted when we find out if we are having a girl or another boy :)

Mkay here goes... I am thinking to myself that this is going to take me forever!!

#1 I hate Jello. I used to like it when I was little but I can't stand to eat it now. I especially HATE when it gets that thick skin on the top... EWW. And Jello with fruit in it is even worse. From my last tag you probably know that I don't like fruit...

#2 Ok this is gross about me... I secretly like blackheads and ingrown hairs... there I said it. I don't like when I have them, but I LOVE when other people have them. I LOVE getting them out. Sometimes Grant will catch me staring at his face and he'll say "See somethin' you like?"

#3 I have a weird obcession with office supplies. Whenever I'm at the store I always walk down the office supplies aisle and I just want to buy everything. Like fresh post-it notes, new pens, markers, crayons, even glue. It's really weird... I can usually control myself and not buy anything though!

#4 I used to have hammer toes. My toes were curled over so I was almost walking on my toe nails. They were so ugly!! And I never wore open toed shoes until I met Grant. He told me he liked my ankles so I started wearing strappy sandles. And then finally I had surgery in '03 to straighten them. I'm so happy about it!

#5 Grant and I met in 1999 as juniors in high school. So we have been dating or married for almost 9 years. Sometimes it's so weird to think about that... It's gone by so fast and I can't imagine what my life would be like without Grant in it. I can't remember what I used to do before I knew him.

#6 I hate scary movies. Especially when they are the jumpy kind of scary. I hate the suspense of it all. And I hate really bloody movies. I'm so sensitive about stuff like that, ever since I was little. When we were little me and Whitney, my sis, would always cry at the beginning of Willow when the little old lady gets attacked by those dogs :( And when I watch scary movies with Grant I hide under a blanket the whole time or plug my ears!

#7 I love to color and I love water colors. I can't wait until Drake is old enough to color so that I can have an excuse to color with him!

That didn't take as long as I thought but it still took a while trying to think inbetween feeding and playing w/ Drake. I'll tag Miss Hayley Boyd. And my other three blogging friends already got tagged :) That was fun, thanks Kin.

Grant's Project

Ok so Grant made a scrapbook page. Which means he scrapbooks more than I do! I ALWAYS say that I will start but when I have spare time there are so many other things I need/want to do. But anyway Grant made this page and we emailed it to Drake's "girlfriend," Brooklyn. Our friends that live in St. George have a daughter and she is a doll. So we joke that she is Drake's GF.

Drake had his six month check up this last week and had to get his dreaded shots! I hate those days. It really does break my heart. I made Grant go with me the last two times to hold him. It is so sad!! And it gets worse the older he gets because it takes longer to calm him down :( And as if he weren't having a hard enough time I spy two little teeth poking out on the bottom! Can't believe how big he is getting!

I love Valentines Day, I always have. It is such a fun, romantic day. Grant is working the night shift at his job so Drake will be my Valentines date. I was looking at some old pics of Grant and I together and thought I'd post a few. And there are a few with the other guy in my life, Drakey.

This was one of the happiest days of my life. I was so nervous walking down the aisle thinking I would trip or something but once I got up there with Grant I felt so calm and happy

10 years ago:
Hm, ok so 15 years old... no driver's license yet, but I was dying to get one! I would have been in 9th grade at Oquirrh Hills Middle (I hated the name of our school) I was a student body officer. And no cares in the world. And I also started high school at Bingham High, and I hated it. I felt like such a loser. I was so shy and didn't know many people... That seems like an eternity ago! I feel old :(
5 Things on my to do list:
(1) Get dressed, Ha! and dress Drake (we both stay in pjs til like 2 pm)
(2) Laundry, ugh, my enemy
(3) Random house chores :(
(4) Think of something to make for dinner and make it
(5) And work on my blog, I've been neglecting it!
Things I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire:
Hm lets see, I would move us into a bigger, nicer house (with a pool). And maybe have another vacation house somewhere. Get some sexy car for me and one for Grant. And a family car, too. I'm sure I would go on a massive shopping spree and spoil Drake w/ clothes and a bunch of toys. Then I'm sure Grant would have some requests like a motorcycle, a boat... and more guy toys. And it would be fun to buy my parents a new house and give some money to my brothers and sisters. And after that and a few fun vacations I'm sure Grant would want to invest the rest, which I know nothing about!
Jobs I have had:
Ok, it all started with a paper route when I was 12 or 13. I hated waking up early and I HATED the Sunday paper.. so heavy! Then I worked at a Sno Shack making sno cones (and I would eat snow cones all day, sooo good) Dominos Pizza with my ugly uniform, Arctic Circle with an even uglier uniform, Peerless Beauty Supply, some telemarketing company, Wrenchead Inc, they sold computer programs to car repair shops and that was my first legit job. It was a full time job w/ a salary and I got a lunch. Then Bluecross/Blueshield was my last job before I had Drake and I really miss friends that I made there. And now I try to do esthetics out of our house. Facials and waxing here and there. Hopefully someday I can make a real home business out of it and make it really nice. I really enjoy doing it!
3 of my bad habits:
Biting my nails...but I used to pick my face so I'm not too hard on myself for biting my nails. Worrying is another bad habit... I sometimes worry until I just stress myself out and I think into things too much. I'm really trying to let things roll off my back like Grant. And also snacking. I don't know why I am always snacking on something...
Things people don't know about me:
Okay that I have never been on an airplane. But that is going to change this May when I fly to Florida to visit my sis. That I am pretty good at Guitar Hero (I try to keep that tid bit on the DL) I don't practice as much now though cuz of the little man. And I love to eat peanut butter and honey:)

Bouncing Baby

Drake got this jumper for Christmas. And at first his feet could barely reach the floor and he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do in there. But he learned how to jump and how to turn all the way around in his seat to play with all the different toys and he loves it. It cracks me up to watch him! It is too funny!

Snuggle Bug

My grandma gave Drake this snuggly blue blanket and he loves it. I lay him down in his crib and sometimes he will be fussy. Then I hand him his blanket and he pulls it over his little face and falls right to sleep. It is so precious. My grandma lives out of town and I always miss her, so I love putting him to sleep with a little piece of her.

Well Grant taught Drake how to box. And he thinks it is so funny! He especially likes to box with all of his uncles, and there are plenty of uncles to go around. This video was taken a few months ago but I just had to post it because I could listen to his little giggle all day!

Drake's Half Birthday

Last week Drake turned six months old. Everytime I look at him I cannot believe how old he is and how big he has gotten. We just marked the day with a cake and let the babe get his hands in it. And he didn't mind getting his hands dirty. Grant rolled his eyes when he heard we were having a "half birthday" but it was really fun!

Snow Day

I think having a baby around has brought out the child in Grant (even more). For the last four days Grant has been building a huge snow fort in our front yard! He wants a place that he can play with Drake. There's even been talk of him sleeping out in it.
